How director of nursing Rachael Ellis uses Florence’s app to deliver high-quality support.
Enable Care provides specialist one-to-one nursing care and rehabilitation services for people living with acquired brain injuries (ABI) and other neurological conditions.
The team also helps people rebuild key skills so they can lead fulfilling and rewarding lives.
Because Enable Care don’t recruit their own staff, they rely heavily on agency support.
When director of nursing Rachael Ellis heard about Florence, she knew our simple solution would help her save time and money, and provide residents with outstanding care.
“At Enable Care, I make sure we stick to policies and procedures, deal with issues appropriately and maintain proper staffing levels. I also support nurses if they have any difficulties on shift, perform audits and create workable action plans," says Rachael.
“We work with unique residents who need one-to-one care, and we don’t recruit our own full time staff, so we use agencies a lot. Our parent company started using Florence and found it great, and that’s why we started using Florence too.”
“The main difference between Florence and a traditional agency is the online platform,” explains Rachael. “Florence is very easy to use.”
“My main concern before switching to Florence was continuity of care,” she continues. “Our old agency knew us well, so they sent us the same workers for consistency.”
Happily, Rachael got exactly what she needed with Florence.
“I have a lot of workers on my favourites list,” she says. “It’s almost too long now!”
“I really like how reliable Florence is for last minute cover,” says Rachael. “Before we switched to Florence, we had trouble filling shifts when people called in sick, but now I have peace of mind – all I need to do is reach out.”
“Florence is so responsive and easy to use," she explains. "I can create custom last-minute shifts and get in touch via web chat.”
“I was so surprised to hear the telephone ring within minutes of requesting a call back, which is brilliant!"
